The 35m catamaran Coral Princess II purpose built to provide maximum space and fully refurbished in 2013 for just 44 guests in 22 air conditioned cabins/staterooms with twin or double beds, en suite bathrooms and picture windows with generous out door deck areas, a large jacuzzi (spa pool) as well as an air-conditioned lounge and cocktail bar with a well-stocked library.
Itinerary highlights
Discover the Reef, islands and rainforests of this World Heritage-listed region and the incredible underwater world that hides just beneath the surface by glass bottom boat, snorkelling or SCUBA diving awakening each morning at exclusive reef moorings, with the very best coral gardens, rainforests and secluded tropical islands right outside your window.
Throughout the cruise the expert expedition staff and marine biologist ensure guests gain a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the locations visited. Learn about the many different varieties of corals and fish during the glass bottom boat tours and take part in guided snorkeling tours, island and rainforest walks. A fully qualified dive instructor is available to assist novice and certified SCUBA divers.
Days 1-2: Cooktown | Embark Cairns cruising north past Palm Cove to visit and overnight at Cooktown with morning town visit and afternoon excursion to a uninhabited local island.
Days 3-4: Lizard Island – Ribbon Reefs | Morning on Lizard Island with a hike, glass bottom boat and snorkeling afternoon to Ribbon Reef No 9 and SCUBA diving. Next day Ribbon reef No 3 and Rachel Carson reef for more snorkeling, glass bottom boat and SCUBA excursions.
Day 5: Cairns Thetford Reefs & Sudbury Cay | After a morning in Cairns cruise to exclusive moorings at these prime locations for glass bottom boat and snorkeling excursions.
Day 6: Hinchinbrook Channel & Pelorus Island | Cruising through Hinchinbrook channel to Pelorus Island for snorkeling, glass bottom boat and SCUBA diving with a beach BBQ in the evening.
Day 7: Dunk Island – Nathan Reef | Morning nature hike on Dunk Island with afternoon snorkeling, glass bottom boat and SCUBA diving excursions.
Day 8: Fitzroy Island – Cairns | We go ashore for a bush walk and a final snorkeling opportunity before disembarking at Cairns after lunch.
