Day 1: Saigon | Transfer to hotel – no activities or meals.
Day 2: Saigon | Morning city sightseeing tour of the Post Office, built by Gustav Eiffel, the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Presidential Palace. Evening to the Water Puppet show then to the popular Benh Tranh Chinese open market and dinner. (B,D)
Day 3: Saigon & Embarkation | After breakfast an excursion to the fascinating Cu Chi Tunnels built during the Vietnam War.
Day 4: On board the Toum Tiou II | Sightseeing to My Tho a prosperous city of 100,000 renowned for its huge rice fields, gardens and fruit orchards then to the Vinh Tran pagoda. After lunch by local boats to visit Thoi Son Island.
Day 5: Vinh Long & Sa Dec | Sightseeing by sampans to the Cai Be floating market then to Vinh Long Island located between two arms of the Mekong sailing through narrow canals and visiting a brick factory and a local house with a show room featuring traditional farming tools. Arrive at Sa Dec and visit Kien An Cung Pagoda, a local primary school, and the few remaining colonial houses.
Day 6: Chau Doc & Phnom Penh | Sightseeing at Chau Doc with a visit via local boats to the fish raising rafts and a Cham community village making rice cakes and candy. After lunch to the Cambodian border and border crossing procedures then sailing on to arrive late at the Cambodian capital, Phnom Penh.
Day 7: Phnom Penh | Morning sightseeing to Royal Palace complex and the National Museum. After lunch continue to S-21 prison then an Apsara Dance performance with after dinner free to relax or explore the vibrant riverside night life.
Day 8: Phnom Penh & Kampong Tralach | Free time to explore Phnom Penh, lunch on board as you sail on to Kampong Tralach with an ox cart ride and a walking tour of the centuries old Vihara Pagoda and a local school (when in session).
Day 9: Tonle Sap Lake | Kampong Chnang a centre of fish farming with a walking /mini-bus tour to a pottery farm and a local village sailing on to the Tonle Sap Lake through the “Floating Village” of Chnok Tru,completely set on water including a stop at the local “floating” school and church!
Day 10: Siam Reap | High water disembark and check-in to your hotel and Low water transfer to Siem Reap by coach (~ 6 hrs) arriving at~ 13:30. Check-in. A walking tour through the vibrant Pub Street and Night Market prior to dinner at the Champay restaurant!
Day 11: Angkor Wat | Today an in-depth exploration of the “8th Wonder of the World” – the ancient Temples of Angkor Wat via the south gates of Angkor Thom, Bayan Temple, Elephant Terrace, the Royal enclosure and the Terrace of the Leper King. Afternoon a visit to Ta Phrom jungle Temple.
