Ultimate Galapagos Itinerary:
Day 1-2: Guayaquil/Baltra Island | Overnight Guayaquil with a next morning flight to Baltra transferring Santa Cruz to visit the Darwin research centre and see the giant tortoise then boarding the MV Isabella II.
Day 3: Floreana Island | Morning Zodiac wildlife viewing excursion followed by a hike ashore through wet lands with many species of water fowl finishing at a white sandy beach and chance to swim with playful sea lions.
Day 4: Espanola Island | Here nest the waved albatross the largest of all birds living in the Galapagos with a stroll ashore to swim on the white sandy beaches.
Day 5-6: San Cristobal | The first which Darwin landed going ashore looking for blue and red footed boobies and the magnificent frigate birds visiting beautiful Cerro Beach. Next day a visit to the interpretative centre at Puerto Baquerizo Moreno and a coach trip to the giant tortoise breeding centre.
Day 7: Genovesa (Tower) Island | Zodiac sightseeing from Darwin Bay to Prince Phillip’s steps and hike ashore for wild life viewing and a swim and snorkel in this colossal harbour formed from an eroded extinct volcanic caldera.
Day 8: Santigo Island | Visit to Espumilla beach and hike through mangroves to a brackish lagoon to see flamingos then back to the beach for a swim then to Puerto Egas for another beach walk in search of the spectacularly coloured Sally Lightfoot crab.
Day 9: Fernandina/Isabella Islands | Up wellings of nutrient rich cold water attract whales and dolphins and landing on Fernandina the newest to see marine iguanas and flightless cormorants on the moonscape like lava fields. Later a stop at Tagus Cove a reputed pirate haunt with a hike to Darwin Lake.
Day 10: Isabella Island | Visit ashore to see iguanas, cormorants and giant tortoise then a cruise through the Beagle Channel along the rugged coast line to Punta Vicente Roca.
Day 11: Rabida /Sanata Cruz Islands | A walk here among the rock and lava fields then to Santa Cruz one of the best places to see land iguana.
Day 12-13: Baltra Island /Guayaquil | Disembarking for the return flight to Guayaquil and your cruise ends next day with an airport transfer.
